I think it looks busy, but I don't think it looks bad. I couldn't really see it without it, you know?
I think though, it might be important to try to make different parts of the pattern have different burned depth, so that it doesn't look like pattern barf. If you can do that?
noooo i like it. But i kind of agree with different depths. But, I've never done that before so I have no idea if it would be hard or not (i'm assuming it would?).
I'm digging the shape of that negative space by the way.
Awe, Leah your the best, Im glad to have a new poster =D Its pretty hard to do different depths, butI do it in the hair all the time so maybe I can take a crack at it. I also thought about sanding away some of it to give it a kinda ghostly worn quality

I really like the top left area of pattern a lot, I'm less sure of the bottom though.
